A giraffe couldn’t be called trivial, no wonder it proudly wears the title of the tallest animal. Sometimes it stands up to 6 meters tall, which is comparable to a two-story house. Here comes an interesting question, if the animal eats virtually nonstop, when does it sleep? In fact it needs only two hours of sleep, and sometimes even ten minutes are enough. So almost every student before exams wants to become a giraffe.

Despite thin, compared to the torso, legs and rather awkward appearance, giraffes are quite fast runners and even good jumpers. Fleeing from the enemy, the giant is able to accelerate to 35 miles per hour and leap over four-foot obstacle. It’s much harder for them to drink and to nibble grass: they have to spread front legs and tilt the neck low to reach the ground. Perhaps it is the reason why giraffes rarely drink, but if they reach for the water, they can swallow thirty eight liters at a time!

Exceptional are not only the habits but also the color of the animal. For all the similarity two identical specimens of the kind have never been found. Like human fingerprints, the spotted pattern on the giraffe coat is its hallmark or even a passport.

One more interesting fact about this creature. There is a belief that these animals are mute, because no one has ever heard their voices. Actually it is not true. Among themselves giraffes communicate at low frequencies which are just undetectable by the human ear.
