Machine Embroidery Design Jesus Icon

You see here before you JESUS ICON, or more precisely, Christ Pantocrator. It is considered the most important in Orthodox iconography and is revered by millions of believers. The Savior is presented here as a stern but fair judge and defender of righteous men before the Lord. People pray to him, asking for help or thanking for a miracle. If your soul is pure, the faith is strong, and your intentions are sincere, Jesus will hear you.

The word of Greek origin “Pantocrator” means invincible strength and power of the Son of God. His head is crowned with a halo – a symbol of holiness and spiritual purity, which emphasizes two natures of Jesus Christ, divine and human. In his left hand he holds the gospel, the right is frozen in a gesture of blessing.

In Orthodox churches Christ Pantokrator is located in the center of the iconostasis. Also it often adorns the main dome in the form of a mosaic. This specific depiction of the Savior is quite rare in Catholic churches, and Protestants don’t use it at all. However, such image is one of the most venerated in the Christian tradition, moreover, one of the oldest. So, the Christ Pantocrator of Sinai monastery dates from the mid-sixth century.
