Machine Embroidery on Synthetic Materials – Neoprene
Neoprene is a synthetic material made from chloroprene rubber. In other words, it’s foamed rubber. For tailoring, it is used neoprene, pasted with a cloth. Typically, this is polyester, cotton or other, mostly elastic fabrics.
For the first time this material will be presented at the exhibition by the famous company for the production of polymer materials “DuPont”. They were looking for a way to replace natural rubber with a cheaper and more synthetic analogue.
And who would have thought, but in 1953, the French chemist Georges Beuchat invented the world’s first neoprene-based suit. Then his invention caused a furor.
Now the scope of the using of neoprene tissues is very wide. And thanks to the unique properties of this material, its popularity is growing every day.
In machine embroidery, the using of neoprene has been noticed quite recently. That’s why we thought it might be interesting for you. Well, let’s discuss the process of machine embroidery on neoprene.
Since this material is slippery and elastic, there may be some problems with the hooping. Therefore, it is better not to hoop the fabric, but simply place it on the stabilizer you have already hoop.
In this case, it is preferable to use a cut-away stabilizer. This will ensure a successful result and high-quality embroidery. Nevertheless, you can choice the stabilizer, which you think is necessary.
The needle is recommended to use a pointed #75/11 for the best result. If you do not have one, you can use a regular embroidery needle. Naturally, it leaves large holes on the fabric, but in this case it is not critical because of good elasticity.
For embroidery on neoprene fabric, you can use the design of any complexity. So our penguins, despite their density, will look just fine.
We hope our wonderful Cute Penguins Machine embroidery designs will inspire you to create exclusive prophetic for the interior.
