This harmonic frame for a monogram is provided in bright gold colour. The Gold Baroque Monogram Frame Machine Embroidery Design is very universal. It can be used as a separate ornament or a family sign. One colour of embroidery thread allows to pick up any necessary shade. Besides, several ornaments of different colours on the same cloth will look fascinating.

Question:
What kind of thread is best for embroidering this design on a lingerie pouch?

Answer:
For embroidering the design on a lingerie pouch, viscose thread is ideal because it adds a shiny and smooth finish, which is particularly important for delicate items. Recommended thread brands:

  • Madeira Classic Viscose (40 weight) – perfect for fine fabrics and provides a soft sheen.
  • Gunold Sulky Rayon (40 weight) – another great option as it is soft and durable.

These threads are suitable for designs that will be in contact with delicate fabrics, as they do not create stiffness and won’t scratch the material.

Question:
What fabric should I use for the lingerie pouch and what weight should it be?

Answer:
It's best to use natural fabrics like cotton or linen because they are breathable and safe for storing delicate items. The optimal weight for the fabric:

  • Cotton or linen with a weight of around 120-150 g/m² (4-5 oz/yd²) – this weight ensures the fabric is strong enough but not too thick for embroidery.

You may also consider using batiste or muslin for a lighter pouch, but in that case, be sure to use a stabilizer to support the fabric during embroidery.

Question:
What stabilizer should I use for embroidery on cotton or linen fabric?

Answer:
For embroidery on natural fabrics like cotton or linen, it's best to use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer:

  • Madeira Cotton Soft (30-50 g/m² or 1-1.5 oz/yd²) or Gunold Tear Away – these stabilizers are easy to remove and don’t leave stiffness in the fabric.
  • If the fabric is very light (like batiste), you can add a water-soluble topping on top to prevent the stitches from sinking into the fabric.

Important:
When using tear-away stabilizers, it's crucial to apply temporary adhesive spray (such as Sulky KK 2000 or Gunold Spray Adhesive) to securely attach the fabric to the stabilizer without leaving marks on the fabric. Spray only on the stabilizer, not the fabric. This ensures reliable adhesion without damaging delicate materials.

Question:
Should I embroider the pouch before or after sewing it?

Answer:
The recommended process is:

  1. First, cut the fabric for the pouch, leaving seam allowances so that you can easily hoop the fabric.
  2. Embroider the design on the cut piece before sewing. This simplifies hooping the fabric and avoids pulling or puckering.
  3. Once the embroidery is complete, sew the pouch, finishing the edges and seams.

This method ensures the embroidery looks neat and the sewing process doesn’t distort the embroidered design.

Final Process:

  1. Choose a cotton or linen fabric with a weight of 120-150 g/m² (4-5 oz/yd²).
  2. Use viscose threads like Madeira Classic Viscose 40 or Gunold Sulky Rayon 40.
  3. Place a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer under the fabric, and use temporary adhesive spray to secure the fabric to the stabilizer (spray only on the stabilizer).
  4. If needed, add a water-soluble topping on top of the fabric.
  5. First cut the fabric, then embroider, and finally sew the pouch together.
