The Crown with Laurel Frame Machine Embroidery Design is a one-color blank monogram frame featuring a large royal crown above two symmetrical laurel branches tied with a ribbon bow. The open center can be personalized with a family initial, wedding monogram, short name or significant date.

This regal embroidery pattern works well on decorative pillows, wedding linens, table runners, chair backs, framed textile panels and personalized gifts. The font shown in the product images is not included. This is a downloadable digital design for an embroidery machine, not a finished embroidered item.

Hoop Compatibility

The smaller file requires an actual embroidery field of at least 111.5 × 178.5 mm. It fits machines with a true 130 × 180 mm field. A machine limited to exactly 5 × 7 inches, or 127 × 177.8 mm, may reject the file because its height exceeds 7 inches by 0.7 mm.

The larger file requires a field of at least 124.0 × 198.5 mm and is intended for a true 140 × 200 mm hoop or a larger embroidery field. Always compare both file dimensions with the usable field specified for your machine.

Where to Use the Crown Monogram Frame

  • wedding and anniversary monograms;
  • decorative pillows and cushion panels;
  • table runners, tablecloths and placemats;
  • guest towels and decorative bath linens;
  • chair backs and textile wall panels;
  • personalized royal, family and boutique gifts.

The original color chart uses Madeira Classic 1180. Because the complete frame is digitized in one color, it can also be stitched in antique gold, silver, ivory, white, black or another shade that contrasts with the fabric.

Fabric, Stabilizer, Thread and Needle

For stable cotton, linen, twill or decorative canvas, use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer. Calculate the approximate stabilizer weight with the formula fabric weight ÷ 3. For example, fabric weighing 210 g/m² requires approximately 70 g/m² of stabilization.

Apply temporary spray adhesive to the stabilizer, attach it to the wrong side of the fabric and hoop both layers together without stretching the material. Use a soft cut-away stabilizer for stretchy, loosely woven or unstable fabric.

For terry towels, add a thin water-soluble topping over the pile so the laurel leaves and crown details remain visible. If the towel is too thick to hoop safely, hoop a self-adhesive stabilizer, position the towel on top and secure it with a basting frame.

Use polyester or rayon embroidery thread No. 40 with an embroidery needle No. 75/11 or 80/12. Polyester is preferable for frequently washed items, while rayon produces a softer, more lustrous finish.

More technical guidance is available in the guide to choosing stabilizers for machine embroidery.

How to Add a Monogram

Import the frame and the selected embroidery font into editing software, place the lettering inside the open center and check the combined dimensions before transferring the file to the machine. Center the monogram visually and leave clear space between the lettering and the laurel branches.

The alphabet or font must be purchased or created separately. Always test the complete combined layout because adding lettering changes the stitch count, stitching time and stabilization requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this machine embroidery design fit a 5 × 7 hoop?

Not every 5 × 7 hoop will accept it. The smaller file is 111.5 × 178.5 mm. It fits a true 130 × 180 mm embroidery field, but it may not fit a machine limited to exactly 127 × 177.8 mm.

How do I add initials to a blank monogram embroidery frame?

Combine the frame with a separate embroidery font in editing software. Center the initials inside the wreath, confirm the total design size and make a test stitch before embroidering the final item. The font is not included with this design.

What stabilizer should I use for machine embroidery on linen or cotton?

Use a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer for stable woven linen or cotton. Attach it with temporary spray adhesive and hoop the fabric together with the stabilizer. Use cut-away stabilizer when the fabric stretches or shifts easily.

How do I embroider a monogram on a terry towel?

Support the towel from below with tear-away or cut-away stabilizer and place water-soluble topping over the pile. Hoop all layers without stretching the towel, or float the towel on self-adhesive stabilizer and secure it with a basting frame.

Can I use metallic thread for a crown embroidery design?

Yes, but test the complete design first. Use good-quality No. 40 metallic thread, a Metallic needle No. 90/14 and reduce the embroidery speed to approximately 400–500 stitches per minute. Gold polyester is more practical for frequently washed textiles.

Can I sell products embroidered with this design?

Yes, a limited number of finished embroidered products may be sold. Bulk manufacturing, redistribution, sharing or resale of the digital embroidery files is prohibited.
