Skeleton Party Machine Embroidery Design Set contains four independent dancing skeleton characters. Each skeleton has a different pose, costume and color palette, so the designs can be used separately or arranged as a coordinated Halloween scene.

Every character is supplied in three separately digitized sizes. The set therefore contains 12 design variants in each listed machine format. The smallest size of each skeleton fits a true 100x100 mm (4x4") embroidery field; the medium and large sizes require a larger field.

Hoop compatibility

Important: only the four smallest files fit a true 100x100 mm embroidery field. A larger plastic frame does not increase the maximum field supported by a 4x4 machine. Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40 thread palette

This combined shopping list contains the 25 Madeira Classic colors used across all four designs, with duplicates removed. The color squares are an on-screen guide; use the Madeira number and a physical thread chart for final matching.

If another thread brand will be used, find close equivalents with the free Madeira thread converter. The numbers above refer to Madeira Classic Rayon and do not necessarily match the numbering used for another brand or polyester range.

Programmed color-block sequences

Skeleton #1: 1071 → 1318 → 1065 → 1071 → 1288 → 1048 → 1170 → 1248 → 1288 → 1006 → 1087 → 1006.

Skeleton #2: 1071 → 1365 → 1145 → 1071 → 1212 → 1065 → 1135 → 1170 → 1150 → 1199.

Skeleton #3: 1071 → 1239 → 1071 → 1087 → 1078 → 1026 → 1048 → 1103 → 1100 → 1199 → 1071.

Skeleton #4: 1241 → 1071 → 1288 → 1078 → 1067 → 1250 → 1103 → 1047 → 1000.

Do not use automatic color sorting. A repeated number is a separate technical block stitched after intervening details, highlights or fills.

Choosing thread for the project

• Cushions, framed panels and indoor decor: Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40 provides a soft sheen and displays the costume shading clearly.
• Sweatshirts, children’s clothing and bags: quality 40-weight embroidery polyester is more practical for frequent washing and active use. Match shades by a physical chart rather than assuming that brand numbers are interchangeable.
• Glow-in-the-dark bones: replace the light 1071 blocks with Madeira Luna No. 40 or another true glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread. Charge the finished embroidery under bright light to produce the greenish glow.
• Bobbin thread: use the fine embroidery bobbin thread recommended for the machine, commonly No. 60–90. Do not substitute ordinary 40-weight top thread in the bobbin without testing the tension.

Fabric, stabilizer and needle

Tips for clean outlines and accurate registration

1. Test the smallest character first. Use a scrap of the project fabric with the same thread, stabilizer, needle and washing plan.
2. Choose the smallest compatible hoop. Less unsupported fabric around the design helps keep the final dark outlines aligned with the bones and clothing fills.
3. Do not stretch knit fabric. Stretched jersey contracts after unhooping and pulls the embroidery inward.
4. Slow the machine to about 500–650 stitches per minute around fingers, teeth, ribs and final outline blocks if the fabric begins to move or the thread shreds.
5. Align a group by the feet, not by the design centers. Leave approximately 15–20 mm between the outermost stitches of neighboring characters.
6. Do not crowd four filled designs together. Leaving fabric between them keeps a large panel more flexible and reduces the risk of waves.

Use one of the three supplied versions whenever possible. Automatic scaling of a finished stitch file can change stitch length, fill density and the registration of narrow bones with dark outlines. Which thread is best for a sweatshirt?

Quality 40-weight embroidery polyester is the practical choice for clothing that will be washed frequently. The original chart uses Madeira Classic Rayon numbers, so match another range by a physical shade card or thread converter.

Can the bones be stitched with glow-in-the-dark thread?

Yes. Replace the light 1071 blocks with a true 40-weight glow-in-the-dark embroidery thread such as Madeira Luna. Test the coverage and tension first, then expose the finished embroidery to bright light before viewing the greenish glow in darkness.

Why can the dark outline shift away from the bones?

The usual causes are stretched knit fabric, insufficient backing, an unnecessarily large hoop or excessive stitching speed. Use cut-away support, hoop without distortion and slow the machine during the final outline blocks.

Can all four skeletons be embroidered on one item?

Yes. Arrange printed templates before hooping, establish one common floor line and leave 15–20 mm between the outermost stitches. Support the full composition with continuous cut-away stabilizer.

Can the costume colors be changed?

Yes. Preserve the contrast between light bones, mid-tone shading and dark outlines, and keep the original block sequence. Complete a full test stitch before embroidering the finished item.
