Sweet, ripe pear is a favorite fruit of a large part of the world population. Several millennia of its history, this native of South Asia one by one conquered all the continents inhabited by people, and became a part of the culinary traditions of various countries. Pears are eaten raw, squeezed for juice and jam, added to pies and pastries, sauces and salads, they are pickled, fried, baked, in short, consumed in all possible ways.
With such immense popularity it’s safe to say that the pear is the pride of the gardener, especially as it is quite a capricious plant. It’s not easy to grow the pear tree, but there is one little trick: it turns out its cuttings can be successfully grafted on the ordinary rowan, and you will get quite a decent crop. Such fruits will have a slightly tart taste typical of the bitterish rowan berries, but externally they will be indistinguishable from their varietal relatives.

Beautiful ornamental pear much more resembles a carved handiwork than an ordinary fruit. It’s not a trivial detail of still life painting. It’s an exquisite decoration for textiles made in a special artful technique. A combination of three different green hues imitatesshades and gives volume to the image – that is characteristic of painting and has been successfully borrowed by the masters of embroidery. Generally, a single pear, so simple at first glance, looks unusual and interesting.
