The Free Red Floral Bouquet Machine Embroidery Design features a vertical arrangement of large red flowers, green leaves, delicate buds and golden details. This decorative floral embroidery design can be stitched on linen napkins, towels, table runners, cushion covers, tote bags and framed textile panels. Its rich red, wine, green and gold palette works especially well with classic, bohemian, Indian-inspired and eclectic home décor.

| Project | Recommended placement | Practical advice |
|---|---|---|
| Linen napkin | Centered on a large napkin or positioned along one side | Fold the napkin as it will be displayed before marking the embroidery position. |
| Decorative towel | Centered near the lower end | Leave approximately 1.5–2.5 inches (40–60 mm) between the lowest part of the bouquet and the finished hem. |
| Table runner | On one or both ends of the runner | For a balanced arrangement, rotate the second bouquet by 180 degrees without changing the size of the embroidery file. |
| Cushion cover | Centered or placed to one side of the front panel | Complete the embroidery before cutting the cushion panel to its final dimensions. |
| Tote bag | Vertically on the front panel | Embroider before assembling the bag so that handles, seams and lining cannot interfere with hoop movement. |
| Framed textile art | Centered on linen or stable cotton | Leave enough fabric around the embroidery for stretching, mounting and framing. |
| Design size | Recommended embroidery hoop |
|---|---|
| 111.8 x 166.8 mm (4.40 x 6.57") | Suitable for a hoop with an actual embroidery field of at least 111.8 x 166.8 mm, including a standard 5x7 inch (130x180 mm) hoop or larger. |
This design does not fit a 4x4 inch (100x100 mm) embroidery field. Check the machine’s actual embroidery area rather than relying only on the external dimensions or commercial name of the hoop.
The original file uses 7 unique colors in 8 embroidery steps. Pale Yellow 210 appears at the beginning and again at the end of the sequence. Do not combine these stops because other parts of the floral bouquet are stitched between them.
| Step | Color | File number | Color name | Embroidered area |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 210 | Pale Yellow | Light inner sections of the buds and individual details of the smaller flower. | |
| 2 | 218 | Yellow Green | Main light areas of the leaves and green transitional shading. | |
| 3 | 248 | Dark Green | Stems, dark leaf sections, veins and green outlines surrounding the buds. | |
| 4 | 235 | Bright Orange | Warm base sections of the large flowers and the smaller decorative flower. | |
| 5 | 215 | Wine Red | Deep shadows, inner folds and dimensional areas of the red petals. | |
| 6 | 225 | Red | Main red petals, upper stitch layers and separation lines within the flowers. | |
| 7 | 273 | Honey Dew | Golden flower centers, the center of the smaller flower and its decorative edging. | |
| 8 | 210 | Pale Yellow | Final pale-yellow highlights on the remaining buds and floral details. |
The file numbers and color names are taken from the original design color chart. They are not Madeira thread numbers. The colored cells show only the general direction of each shade. When changing the palette, preserve the contrast between the light and dark greens, orange base stitches, red petals and wine-red shadows.
| Fabric or project | Stabilizer | Weight | Use and removal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firm cotton or stable linen | Madeira Cotton Soft | 50 g/m² (1.5 oz/yd²) | Use one layer. Tear it away in small sections while supporting the long embroidery stitches with your fingers. |
| Thin linen or fabric that shifts in the hoop | Madeira Cotton Stable | 50 g/m² (1.5 oz/yd²) | Fusible tear-away stabilizer that helps prevent movement between the green, orange, red and wine-colored sections. |
| Finished napkin or item that cannot be hooped | Madeira Cotton Fix | 50 g/m² (1.5 oz/yd²) | Hoop the self-adhesive stabilizer, score the release paper and press the item onto the exposed adhesive area. |
| Loosely woven linen, soft bag fabric or frequently washed textile | Madeira Super Strong | 80 g/m² (2.4 oz/yd²) | Use as permanent cut-away support. Trim the excess approximately 1/4 inch (5–8 mm) outside the completed embroidery. |
| Cushion, heavy tote or firm home décor fabric | Madeira Super Stable | 80 g/m² (2.4 oz/yd²) | Fusible cut-away stabilizer that remains under the embroidery and supports it during use and washing. |
| Terry cloth towel | Madeira Avalon Film over the fabric | Water-soluble topping | The film keeps the long leaf and petal stitches from sinking between the towel loops. It does not replace the stabilizer underneath. |
For stable non-stretch fabric, a useful starting point is to divide the fabric weight by three to estimate the stabilizer weight. This is not an absolute rule: loosely woven linen may need permanent cut-away support even when the fabric itself is relatively heavy.
If temporary spray adhesive is required, apply a light layer of Odif 505 or Madeira MSA 1100 to the stabilizer away from the embroidery machine. Do not spray adhesive onto the hoop, needle plate or inside the machine.
