Where to embroider the red floral bouquet

This design does not fit a 4x4 inch (100x100 mm) embroidery field. Check the machine’s actual embroidery area rather than relying only on the external dimensions or commercial name of the hoop.

Thread color chart and embroidery sequence

The original file uses 7 unique colors in 8 embroidery steps. Pale Yellow 210 appears at the beginning and again at the end of the sequence. Do not combine these stops because other parts of the floral bouquet are stitched between them.

The file numbers and color names are taken from the original design color chart. They are not Madeira thread numbers. The colored cells show only the general direction of each shade. When changing the palette, preserve the contrast between the light and dark greens, orange base stitches, red petals and wine-red shadows.

For stable non-stretch fabric, a useful starting point is to divide the fabric weight by three to estimate the stabilizer weight. This is not an absolute rule: loosely woven linen may need permanent cut-away support even when the fabric itself is relatively heavy.

How to embroider the floral bouquet on linen

Prewash and press natural linen before cutting because it may shrink during the first wash.
Mark the vertical axis and center point of the bouquet.
Hoop the linen together with the stabilizer. The fabric should remain flat without being stretched.
Use a 75/11 or 80/12 embroidery needle for medium-weight linen.
Use size 40 rayon thread for decorative linen. Size 40 polyester is more practical for towels and bags that will be washed frequently.
Begin at approximately 550–650 stitches per minute. Reduce the speed if long stitches begin to loop or the color sections move out of alignment.
Remove the project from the machine before cutting or tearing away the stabilizer.

If temporary spray adhesive is required, apply a light layer of Odif 505 or Madeira MSA 1100 to the stabilizer away from the embroidery machine. Do not spray adhesive onto the hoop, needle plate or inside the machine.

Embroidery quality checks

Make a complete test stitch on the same fabric and stabilizer planned for the finished project.
Check the alignment between the yellow-green leaf fills and the dark-green veins and outlines.
Check the registration of the bright-orange flower bases, wine-red shadows and upper red stitches.
Do not skip the repeated Pale Yellow 210 step.
If one color shifts, check the hooping, stabilizer and free movement of the embroidery hoop before changing the thread tension.
Use one of the supplied files without resizing whenever possible. Automatic resizing may affect long stitch lengths and the alignment between color sections.
