The product page gives the exact file count of 8525 stitches, while the technical map displays a rounded total of 8500. This description retains the product-page value.
The composition is a tall, airy floral branch with three open flowers, heart-shaped leaves, fine veins, small sprigs and curling stems. Most of the fabric remains visible between the stitched lines, so the motif looks decorative without producing a heavy solid panel.
The vertical format works well at the end of a table runner, along the side of a cushion, on an apron panel, tote bag, guest towel or framed textile picture. On garments, check the full 178.8 mm height against seams, pockets and the machine arm before hooping.
| Usable embroidery field | Fit |
|---|---|
| 100x100 mm (4x4) | No |
| 100x170 mm (4x6.69") | No |
| 130x180 mm, commonly called 5x7 | Yes, with minimal height clearance |
| 140x200 mm and larger | Yes |
Critical 130x180 mm note: when perfectly centered, the 178.8 mm side leaves only 0.6 mm at each end. Check the machine’s actual embroidery field, load the file before hooping and run the complete boundary trace. If the machine reports that the design is too large or the trace approaches the hoop edge, use a 140x200 mm or larger field.
The supplied technical map labels its three sequence colors as Meadow Green 247, Dark Green 248 and Sienna 258. These are source-program palette numbers, not Madeira codes. The table below gives close, practical Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40 matches and clearly separates them from the original file labels.
| Color | Source map | Recommended Madeira | Official shade name | What it stitches |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ■ | 247 Meadow Green | 1469 | Granny Smith | Lighter stems, fine sprigs, small leaves, flower stamens and selected leaf outlines |
| ■ | 248 Dark Green | 1390 | Forest Green | Dark contours on the main stems and prominent heart-shaped leaves |
| ■ | 258 Sienna | 1058 | Sienna | Contours of all three flowers |
Programmed sequence: 247 Meadow Green → 248 Dark Green → 258 Sienna. The machine makes two color changes and no color returns later in the sequence.
To reproduce the brighter red flowers shown in the stitched photograph: use Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40 1146 Tomato Red instead of 1058 Sienna for the third block. This is a direct substitution and does not add another machine stop.
The HTML squares are approximate screen representations. Select thread by Madeira number because monitors cannot reproduce the sheen and exact color of rayon thread.
| Fabric or project | Madeira stabilizer underneath | Material on top |
|---|---|---|
| Stable medium-weight linen or cotton | Madeira Cotton Soft tear-away | Not required on a smooth surface |
| Lightweight woven fabric prone to puckering | Madeira Cotton Soft; test two layers with their fibre directions crossed if one layer does not hold the long outline cleanly | Not required on a smooth surface |
| Jersey, sweatshirt knit or another elastic fabric | Madeira Super Strong cut-away for permanent support | Not required unless the surface is textured |
| Terry towel or fabric with pile | Madeira Super Strong cut-away, or Cotton Soft after a successful test on a firm towel | Madeira Avalon Film water-soluble topping over the pile |
| Collar, cuff, velvet or a finished item that cannot be hooped conventionally | Madeira Cotton Fix self-adhesive tear-away for positioning; add Super Strong beneath elastic fabric when permanent support is needed | Avalon Film only on pile or textured fabric |
This is an open design with 8525 stitches spread over a tall area, so stable woven fabric normally needs less backing than a dense filled motif of the same size. The critical issue is not bulk but preventing the long stems and satin outlines from drifting out of registration.
More technical guidance: Madeira Cotton Soft and Cotton Fix, Madeira Super Strong cut-away, Madeira Avalon water-soluble stabilizers and the stabilizer selection guide.
Do not judge registration from the first green block alone. The second green adds stronger contours to selected leaves and stems, while the third block finishes the three flower outlines. If the later contours shift consistently in one direction, re-hoop and check fabric movement before changing thread tension.
This product page offers the design as a purchase bonus; it cannot be downloaded separately from this store item without a qualifying order. Browse the free machine embroidery designs section for other bonus files.
Yes, but the height clearance is extremely small. The supplied file is 100.2x178.8 mm, leaving only 1.2 mm total in the 180 mm direction. Center the file and run the machine’s complete boundary trace before stitching.
No. The design exceeds the 100 mm side by 0.2 mm and the 170 mm side by 8.8 mm. Rotating the file does not solve either limit.
Not from this product page. It is supplied as a free bonus when the basket contains at least $3 in paid designs. Add the free item and the qualifying paid items to the same order.
Use Madeira Super Strong underneath for permanent support and Madeira Avalon Film on top of terry pile. A firm, non-stretch towel may also work with Cotton Soft underneath after a complete test stitch.
Yes. Replace only the third color block with Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40 shade 1146 Tomato Red to reproduce the brighter red flowers shown in the stitched photograph. The stitch sequence and number of machine stops remain unchanged.
