Vintage Damask Corner Machine Embroidery Design features graceful scrolls, stylized leaves and balanced ornamental lines arranged in a classic corner composition. The open center leaves space for a separately purchased monogram, initials, wedding date or short inscription.

Five included sizes make the design suitable for linen napkins, tablecloths, table runners, towels, decorative pillows, bed linens and wedding textiles. Stitch it tone on tone for understated elegance or use gold, silver or bronze thread for a more formal finish.

This is a digital product for machine embroidery. Fabric, thread, stabilizer and finished items are not included.

Where to Use the Damask Corner

  • linen dinner and cocktail napkins;
  • tablecloth corners and table runners;
  • placemats and decorative towels;
  • pillowcases and cushion covers;
  • bed linens and duvet covers;
  • ring bearer pillows and wedding accessories;
  • gift bags and fabric keepsake pouches;
  • church and ceremonial textiles;
  • monogram and anniversary projects.

For a coordinated table setting, place the design at the same distance from the finished hem on every napkin. Prepare and press the hem before marking the embroidery center so that the ornament remains correctly aligned with both edges.

Fabric and Stabilizer

For stable linen or woven cotton, hoop the fabric together with a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer. Keep the fabric grain straight and do not stretch the material in the hoop. Fine or loosely woven linen may require a soft cut-away or fabric-like wash-away stabilizer for additional support.

If part of the design is stitched over terry loops, add a thin water-soluble topping. Remove tear-away stabilizer gradually while supporting the stitches, and press the finished embroidery from the reverse side over a soft towel.

Stitching with Metallic Thread

  • use a metallic embroidery needle, usually 90/14;
  • reduce the machine speed to approximately 400–500 stitches per minute;
  • allow the thread to unwind freely from a separate thread stand;
  • slightly reduce upper-thread tension if required by your machine;
  • test the design on the same fabric and stabilizer before stitching the final item.

If your machine does not handle metallic thread reliably, use Madeira Classic Rayon or a high-quality No. 40 polyester thread in a gold, silver or bronze shade. The embroidery file does not need to be modified.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sizes are included?

The download includes one corner design in five sizes. All listed sizes and available machine formats are included with the purchase.

Will this design fit a 5 × 7 inch hoop?

The smallest file measures 128.2x128.2 mm. It will fit only if your machine provides an actual embroidery field of at least 128.2 × 128.2 mm in both directions. A standard 130 × 180 mm hoop may support this size, but the usable field must be checked in your machine specifications.

Can I stitch it white on white?

Yes. White or ivory thread on matching linen highlights the stitch texture and creates an elegant heirloom effect for wedding linens, napkins, towels and bedding.

Is the monogram included?

No. The open area can be combined with a separately purchased monogram, alphabet or inscription. Fonts and letters are not included with this product.

Can the design be rotated for another corner?

Yes. The file can be rotated in your embroidery machine or software without changing its dimensions. Check the orientation and design boundaries on the machine screen before stitching.

May I sell finished products featuring this embroidery?

Yes. You may sell finished items made by a small craft business. Industrial mass production and copying, sharing, publishing or reselling the digital embroidery files are prohibited.

License

The design may be used for personal projects and small-scale production of finished embroidered items. The digital files may not be copied, shared, published, distributed or resold.
