This Arabic calligraphy applique large machine embroidery design is a square geometric composition created with fabric appliqué and a final embroidered border. The download contains three complete, unsplit sizes.
The design can be used for cushion covers, textile wall panels, Islamic home décor, prayer-room decorations and handmade Ramadan or Eid gifts. Embroider it on a flat fabric panel before assembling the finished item.
This is a digital machine embroidery product. No finished embroidery, pillow, fabric, thread or other physical item will be shipped.

Extract the ZIP archive before transferring the selected file to the embroidery machine. Choose both the correct machine format and a size that fits inside the machine’s usable embroidery field.
Required Materials
- base fabric cut with enough allowance for the finished cushion or textile panel;
- appliqué fabric large enough to cover the complete calligraphy area;
- two layers of tear-away stabilizer;
- temporary embroidery adhesive;
- curved appliqué scissors;
- Madeira Classic Rayon 40 or another suitable 40-weight embroidery thread;
- embroidery needle selected for the weight and construction of the fabrics.
Green velvet was used for the appliqué section in the original sample. Stable cotton, satin, microsuede or another decorative fabric may also be used. Test fabrics that fray, stretch or shift before embroidering the final project.
Appliqué Embroidery Sequence
- Hoop two layers of tear-away stabilizer.
- Apply temporary adhesive and position the prepared base fabric over the stabilizer.
- Stitch the first securing line using Madeira Classic 1376.
- Place the appliqué fabric over the marked area.
- Stitch the tack-down outline using Madeira Classic 1369.
- Remove the hoop from the machine without releasing the fabric or stabilizer.
- Trim the appliqué fabric close to the tack-down stitches.
- Return the hoop to the machine and stitch the final border using Madeira Classic 1290.
- Remove excess stabilizer and assemble the cushion cover or textile panel.

Important Technical Notes
- Do not unhoop the project between the placement, tack-down and finishing steps.
- Support the weight of the large hoop so it does not pull against the machine carriage.
- Keep the appliqué scissors close to the tack-down line without cutting the stitches or base fabric.
- Embroider the design before assembling the pillow or other lined item.
- Make a complete test stitch using the intended fabric, stabilizer, needle and thread.
- Substantial resizing is not recommended because it can affect the satin width, stitch density and registration between appliqué stages.
