Eastern Floral Monogram Frame Machine Embroidery Design features a large circular frame surrounded by symmetrical turquoise, blue and white floral ornament. The open center can be combined with your own initial, wedding monogram, family letter or short personalized inscription.

The design is suitable for bath and guest towels, decorative cushions, pillow shams, table runners, wedding textiles, robe backs and framed fabric décor. The blue-green palette looks especially clear on navy, black, burgundy and other dark fabrics.

The letter shown in the product photographs is an example only. No letter, alphabet or embroidery font is included.

This listing contains a downloadable digital design for a computerized embroidery machine. Fabric, thread, stabilizer, lettering and the finished embroidered item are not included.

Hoop and embroidery-field requirements

The design requires an embroidery field of at least 128.4x174.5 mm (5.06x6.87"). It normally fits a 130x180 mm field (13x18 cm; 5.12x7.09"), commonly sold as a 5x7 inch hoop.

The design leaves only 1.6 mm of total clearance across a 130 mm-wide field. A literal 5.00-inch field measures only 127 mm and is too narrow. Check the exact usable embroidery area stated in the machine manual or embroidery software rather than relying only on the commercial hoop name.

This design does not fit a 100x100 mm field (10x10 cm; approximately 4x4 inches).

What is included

  • one ready-sized Eastern floral frame;
  • 11 listed machine embroidery formats;
  • five programmed color blocks;
  • Madeira color references and stitching sequence.

Not included: the gold letter shown in the photographs, alphabet, monogram font, embroidery software, materials or finished product.

Madeira Classic Rayon color chart

The original color chart was created with Madeira Classic Rayon No. 40. Four thread colors are used in five programmed blocks because turquoise No. 1093 appears twice in the stitching sequence.

Block Madeira Classic Shade What it stitches
1 1093 Azure Sea — bright turquoise first turquoise scrolls, leaves, stems and floral ornament
2 1375 Work Shirt Blue — muted blue circular frame band, darker stems, leaves and contrasting ornamental details
3 1093 Azure Sea — bright turquoise remaining turquoise flowers, leaves and overlapping accents
4 1004 Natural White flower petals, white buds and small light decorative elements
5 1069 Sunshine Yellow small golden-yellow flower centers

Sequence: 1093, 1375, 1093, 1004, 1069.

The technical color sheet shows a rounded total of 18800 stitches. Use the exact product-file total of 18780 stitches when estimating embroidery time.

Equivalent shades from polyester, rayon and other thread manufacturers can be selected with the free Madeira thread converter. Preserve strong contrast between the turquoise, muted blue, white petals and yellow flower centers.

Madeira Classic Rayon produces the soft sheen visible in the stitched sample. For towels, robes and other frequently washed items, a comparable 40-weight polyester embroidery thread may provide greater wash and abrasion resistance.

Fabric, stabilizer and needle

As a starting point, divide the fabric weight in g/m² by three to estimate the stabilizer weight. For example, fabric weighing 150 g/m² suggests a stabilizer near 50 g/m². Adjust the result for stretch, loose weave and the long satin-stitched circular frame.

  • Stable cotton, linen, twill or firm table fabric: use Madeira Cotton Soft 50 g/m² or Gunold STIFFY 1650 50 g/m². Both are medium-weight tear-away stabilizers.
  • Fabric that cannot be hooped or may show hoop marks: use Madeira Cotton Fix 50 g/m² or Gunold FILMOPLAST 50 g/m². Hoop the stabilizer with its protective paper facing upward, expose the adhesive area and position the fabric without stretching it.
  • Jersey, sweatshirt fabric, piqué or elastic knitwear: use Madeira Weblon Plus 55 g/m² cut-away stabilizer for permanent support. Cotton Fix may assist with positioning but should not be the only support for a stretchy garment.
  • Bath towels and other pile fabrics: use secure backing underneath and Madeira Avalon 20 micron water-soluble topping above the fabric. The topping prevents small petals, thin stems and satin stitches from sinking into the pile.

Use a sharp embroidery needle No. 75/11 for woven cotton and linen. For jersey or knitwear, use an embroidery ballpoint needle No. 75/11. Hoop the fabric and backing smoothly without stretching them and stitch a complete test sample before embroidering the finished item.

How to add your own monogram

  1. Open the frame and a true machine-embroidery font in compatible editing software.
  2. Position the letter or short monogram inside the open center.
  3. Check that the lettering does not touch the satin-stitched frame.
  4. Review the combined dimensions and confirm that they remain within 128.4x174.5 mm (5.06x6.87").
  5. Check the complete color sequence and save the project in the format supported by your machine.
  6. Make a test stitch before embroidering the final towel, cushion or wedding textile.

Use a digitized embroidery font rather than automatically converting an ordinary computer font. The frame can also be stitched without any lettering.

Project and color ideas

  • personalized bath and guest towels;
  • decorative cushions and pillow shams;
  • wedding and anniversary textiles;
  • large table runners and tablecloth centers;
  • robe backs and garment panels;
  • framed textile art and wall hangings;
  • personalized handmade products for sale.

Navy fabric emphasizes the turquoise, white and yellow details shown in the original sample. White-on-white creates a quieter wedding version, while emerald, gold and ivory produce a warmer formal palette. When using light fabric, replace Natural White No. 1004 with a contrasting pale blue, cream or another visible shade.

Frequently asked questions

Will this design fit a 5x7 embroidery hoop?

It fits only when the machine provides a usable field of at least 128.4x174.5 mm (5.06x6.87"). A standard 130x180 mm field is sufficient, but a field measuring exactly 5 inches wide is not.

Is the gold letter shown in the photographs included?

No. The download contains the floral frame only. The letter demonstrates one possible use of the blank central area. No alphabet or embroidery font is included.

Can the frame be stitched without a monogram?

Yes. The supplied frame can be embroidered exactly as provided and used as a decorative Eastern floral ornament without adding lettering.

Can I embroider it on a bath towel?

Yes. Use permanent or sufficiently firm backing underneath and water-soluble topping over the pile. Make sure the topping covers the complete 128.4x174.5 mm (5.06x6.87") embroidery area.

Can the frame be embroidered on sweatshirt fabric?

Yes. Use Madeira Weblon Plus 55 g/m² cut-away stabilizer and an appropriate ballpoint embroidery needle. Do not stretch the knit while hooping.

Can I stitch the complete frame in one color?

Yes. Leave the same thread installed through all five programmed blocks. The machine may pause four times because the original color stops remain in the file.

Is this freestanding lace or appliqué?

No. This is a standard machine embroidery design that must be stitched on fabric. It is not freestanding lace and does not include appliqué placement steps.

How do I select the correct machine format?

Unzip the downloaded archive and transfer only the extension supported by your machine. See the embroidery machine file formats guide if you are unsure which file to use.

Is this a finished embroidered product?

No. This is a downloadable digital machine embroidery design. No physical item will be shipped.
